2005 GPOK State Convention Report

The Green Party of Oklahoma held its 4th annual state convention in Sulphur, at Chickasaw National Recreation Area, on the weekend of June 24-26. Amid the peaceful natural setting, the Executive Committee agreed to adopt what became known as the “radical proposal” to significantly redesign the structure and process of decisionmaking within the state party, effectively phasing itself out of existance.

New by-laws were approved, the provisions of which call for more grassroots control of the party and more focus on local participation and activity.

A copy of the new by-laws is available on this site under “About Us >> Guiding Documents.”
